In Field Commissioning#
It may sometimes be desirable to update a charger’s provisioned settings. The various supported commissioning methods are explained below.
Commissioning Wi-Fi AP Credentials Using the Wi-Fi Captive Portal#
It is possible to commission the charger’s Wi-Fi AP credentials (SSID and password) by utilizing the Wi-Fi module’s built-in captive portal.
Note: This method can only be used if the charger is provisioned to use Wi-Fi.
Instructions#
Bringing up the Charger’s Wi-Fi Access Point#
Ensure the charger is disconnected from power
Take note of the charger’s current rotary switch position (e.g. take a photo)
Set the charger’s current rotary switch to position 0
Connect the charger to power (you will see LED blinking white)
Wait for 30 seconds to allow the charger finish initializing itself
Hold any NFC card against the charger for around 6 seconds
Scan for Wi-Fi APs on your phone/computer until a Wi-Fi AP with SSID equal to the charger’s serial number appears
Acces the Wi-Fi Module’s Captive Portal#
Connect your phone/computer to the Wi-Fi AP hosted by the charger
Open a web browser and go to:
192.168.88.1/connectEnter the new SSID & password for your AP
Click the
SubmitbuttonWait for 30 seconds to allow the charger to reconfigure itself and connect to the new Wi-Fi AP
Finalising commissioning#
Ensure the charger has connected to the new Wi-Fi AP
Disconnected the charger from power
Set the current rotary switch to its original position (refer to e.g. the photo you took earlier)
Connect the charger to power
