Cellular 4G - LTE Cat 1 bis#
amina C and amina M support LTE Cat 1 bis technology for 4G Cellular connectivity for OCPP communication, using a powerful antenna design to ensure maximum coverage. This is particularly useful in areas with poor cellular signal, allowing the charging station to maintain a stable connection to the CSMS. The data rate of LTE Cat 1 bis is typically 10 Mbps, which is sufficient for most applications, especially for OCPP communication. The latency is also low, which is suitable for real-time applications like charging station management. Our products feature a factory default eSIM for the EU region that is pre-configured for maximum network converage and roaming capabilities, ensuring that the charging station can connect to the best available network in any country or region. The CPO is automatically assigned the complete ownership of the eSIM and end-to-end control over the cellular network traffic when our products leave the factory, allowing them to manage the connectivity of their charging stations effectively.
Data Usage#
The data usage of our products is exceptionally low by default, and we connect over a MVNO network to reduce the cost of data usage. The modem connects to any available network, ensuring that the charging station can always communicate with the CSMS. The data usage is typically around 20-40 MB per month, depending on the number of transactions and messages sent.
Wi-Fi#
amina C and amina M support Wi-Fi connectivity (2.4GHz and 5GHz), allowing them to connect to local Wi-Fi APs for OCPP communication. This is useful in installations where LTE coverage is limited and setting up a wired Ethernet connection isn’t preferred.
Ethernet#
amina M supports Ethernet connectivity, allowing it to connect over a wired connection for OCPP communication. This is useful in installations where the wireless connectivity options are limited and a wired connection is preferred.
Firmware Updates#
Firmware updates are supported over LTE, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections. This allows for easy and secure updates to the charging station’s firmware, ensuring that it remains up-to-date with the latest features and security patches. The firmware update process is designed to be seamless and requires minimal user intervention, making it easy for operators to keep their charging stations running smoothly.
